Will and Estate Packet

A simple Will, like the one provided with the Will and Estate Packet, is a Will that contains only basic trusts for minors and no tax planning. If you need complex trusts or tax planning, please purchase an Advantage Plan and we will connect you with an attorney in our network who can assist.

If you die without a Will, your assets will be distributed according to state law. The results in that case may be different than what you want (and expensive)! A Will allows you to specify exactly what happens to your assets.

A Financial Power of Attorney lets you appoint someone you trust to make important financial decisions for you, such as banking, insurance, and tax decisions. If you become incapacitated (unable to make decisions for yourself), the Financial Power of Attorney helps avoid an expensive, lengthy process to appoint someone to manage your affairs.

A Medical Power of Attorney allows you to avoid uncertainty and delay by appointing someone to make medical decisions for you if you are unable to make them for yourself.

A Directive to Physicians allows you to plan ahead by instructing your doctor on when to administer, withhold, or withdraw life-sustaining treatment if you are diagnosed with a terminal or irreversible condition.

A HIPAA Authorization works to ensure the people you trust to make medical decisions on your behalf are able to stay informed about your condition, treatment, and prognosis by allowing access to confidential medical information.

A guardian will take care of your minor children (and their assets) if you and their other parent die or become incapacitated. A court will appoint a guardian when neither parent is able to take care of their minor children. By selecting a guardian ahead of time, you can let the court know who you believe is best fit to take care of your children.
